DANNY KA'ANA'ANA YAMAMOTO, JR.
“It’s in your blood,” Danny’s mother often said. A great-grandson of Aunty Edith Kanakaʻole, he was raised in Hilo on Hawaiʻi Island. He grew up playing ʻukulele, bass, and guitar across Hawaiian, jazz, rock, and funk, later balancing music with radio and acting. After moving to Boston in 1999 and taking a hiatus, he relocated to Chicago in 2009 to start fresh, where he found his Hoapili ʻOhana.
